I remember going to a party one night in Hollywood at an Allure beauty editor’s bungalow. Products all over the place, she handed us each a shopping bag. Take what you want was the theme that night… only in LA right…? As we pawed through product galore, I remember her saying with a commanding voice. “LADIES, THIS IS THE ONLY PINK POLISH YOU WILL EVER NEED.” As she waived this little bottle of polish we all gleamed with joy.

That bottle was Essie’s Mademoiselle, and 20 years later it is my staple shade. It is the goldilocks of pinks. Not too white, not too nude, it is the perfect pink!

She was right.It is just right.

OMG I love this story! Essie Weingarten in 1981 took her idea of power polish to Las Vegas. With 12 shades and $10,000 to her name, she was ready to show the world what the PERFECT MANICURE looked like.
